BioVigilant™ manufactures two Instantaneous Microbial Detection instruments: the IMD-A (with “A” representing “air sampling”), and the IMD-L (with “L” representing liquid sampling).  The IMD-A is currently available, while the IMD-L is scheduled for release Q4 2008.

Both instruments extensively leverage recent research in military research and recent advances in laser technology.  Both instruments simultaneously, on a particle-by-particle basis, in real time, continuous use, measure particle quantity, size, and determines whether each particle is biologic or inert.

Applications for IMD technology and instruments are wide ranging and include use as a trigger to warn in the event of a bio-terror attack, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, food processing and mold detection.
